Hello again (still here, still chatty)

If you’ve been on this blog before, you’re probably very surprised to see something has changed after all this time. Over the past few years, I’ve hovered over the delete button many a time, but something always kept me from clicking. While blogging is virtually dead and I definitely have no desire to be a “fashion blogger” or even an influencer of any kind, I still felt like this space could serve me in some way.

While i was away

When I last posted something here, I was still a physical therapy student, enrolled at Antwerp University but living with my parents in the countryside. I had some ideals stirring inside me, and while you might have read about my slight shift in ethics on here once or twice, I wasn’t ready to part with high street chains and conventional beauty brands just yet.

During my absence here, just about everything changed. I went though a shitty period in general, stopped caring about my appearance altogether, wore what basic clothes I had and abandoned makeup completely. And while I definitely see some merit in this approach, I had adopted it out of necessity rather than by choice: I just stopped caring for a while.

I’m now in a much better place. I’m a working physiotherapist living with my boyfriend of three years, in a slightly shitty apartment in the outskirts of Antwerp. I enjoy dressing up, or not getting dressed at all. Going out, our staying in (pandemics and lockdowns aside). Wearing a full face of makeup or none at all. I can basically do whatever I want, because I’m somehow a grown ass adult.

What about this blog

I’ve missed having a place to talk about my journey, navigating a conscious lifestyle while doing the things I enjoy, so I’m going to find out if this blog might be the way to do it. I have no ambition to become an “influencer”, I just want a place to share some thoughts, stories and considerations. If someone still reads it, cool! If only my mum does, I’ll still have a nice place to waste my spare time on, which is fine as well. I might reupload one or two of my old posts that I personally still enjoy, but most importantly, I have tons of new ideas I want to work on. Now let’s just cross our fingers that I don’t throw in the towel again after a month.

In the meantime, if you want to know more about me or the blog, check out my “About” page (yes, I have one now)!
